What is this? (Item IFAS 4-13)
|
DESCRIPTION: Germania International solicits your help to identify a cast-iron plate that has 16 skulls around its edges. Maybe one of the experts out there can help us identify this piece. The dealer we bought it from told us it was Italian. That’s all the dealer would say or possibly knew. All along the edge above the skulls is a continuous ring with various titles bearing the names of countries and numerals that spell out dates??? In the center is a sun symbol with rays emitting from it. The piece measures 7 1/2 inches in diameter. We do not own it, but are trying to research it for the owner. By the way, the skulls seems to be from war casualties as each one has a different war wound some with bullet entries, some with gaping skull injuries with a goodly percentage of the bone structure blown away. No wording or signature is present. This is a very exotic item and obviously quite rare.

What is this? (Item LUFT 20-16)

DESCRIPTION: Germania International solicits your help to identify this badge. Here is what obviously is a flyer’s badge of some sort—but whose? what nation’s? what period of time? It was purchased in Germany among a bunch of miscellaneous German WWII badges and medals, but that actually gives us no clue. The German medals and miscellany were all WWII, but this one doesn’t have to be of WWII era. It is of superior construction in silver with an enameled face and an unusual fastening device. The propeller mounted over the eagle actually spins on its hub. The wingspan is 3 ½ inches; height is 1 1/2 inches. Help!!
