Veterans' Collage (Item KPHOTO 1-3) |
|||||||
DESCRIPTION: This was the typical wall hanging designed to depict the chronology of a German veteran's time in service. It is a souvenir rich I color of their service to Konig and Vaterland. The strange part that often puzzles the viewer is that the faces of all three of the central figures in uniform are the same. This was the tradition Drei Manner ein Bilder (triple picture for one man). The patriotic motif is wonderful that surrounds the lanser in his various dress. The regiment that this man was in was the 12th Co. of the Royal Sachjen 2nd Grenadier Regt No1 101 Kaiser Wilhelm King of Prussia from 1903-1907. His was Grenadier Häge. With frame it measures 26 x 23 inches. The frame is original with a few chips here and there and some of the composition fiber missing, also, but in general, it looks quite good.
