Re-created Wehrmacht Heersdolch (Item REPRO NS DAG 1-1) |
|||||||||||
DESCRIPTION: We know our daggers pretty well, but this one got by us! In our many years in this business, it’s absolutely the finest reproduction dagger that we have ever laid eyes on. The blade is marked Höller Berlin and Höller did not have a Berlin branch, and I have to admit with a blush that we should have caught this, but the rest of the dagger is 100-percent original looking and fine and pretty perfect, really! And the blade is as fine as anything made in Solingen. The grip and the crossguard give no indication of a re-creation. The scabbard is also perfect. Tom Wittmann, in whom we hold much respect, tells us that a few of these were produced in Spain in the 1990s and are not original. We were asking a high price for this piece until we were informed of its origin. This piece is utterly fantastic! The dagger, except for the manufacture mark, is wonderful-plus. The hanger is 100-percent original and when we bought it I guess the hanger was part of what hypnotized us. So, dear collector, we would never sell a repro or even a parts dagger knowingly as original. This piece is still of some value if only because to its sheer beauty. Therefore, we are reducing the price from the $895.00 it was posted at before the amazing revelation. We would defy anyone to single this piece out as a re-creation without being told. It is just that perfect! This is a great bargain at this price!
PRICE: $$450.00; with an original $150.00 hanger attached |

Hermann Göring Hunting Dagger (This is a Re-creation) (Item REPRO NS DAG 1-2) |
DESCRIPTION: Again, Germania International does not handle reproduction items unless noted as such AND the item happens to be something worthy of collecting and is of the finest workmanship and quality; that is the case here with this beautiful hunting dagger. It’s an accurate copy of the special gift-presentation Hirschfänger as bestowed by the Master of the German Hunt Reichsjägermeister Hermann Göring, to persons such as forest wardens and others who attended and labored to protect the German forests and promoted in various ways the sport of hunting. Göring presented a few of these to a select few worthy recipients. On the blade it says Für Verdienste um das Deutsche Waidwerk. (For services to the German hunting grounds.) Below this is the symbol of the German Forest Organization (Der Deutsche Jäger Verein); on the other side it has inscribed (Der Reichsjägermeister) and the facsimile signature of Hermann Göring. The company of manufacture is seen on the blade just below the crossguard (Clemen & Jung in Solingen). The crossguard bears the National Socialist eagle of the Reich with a traditional clamshell motif as the languet, while hunting hounds and an elk motif adorn the upper crossguard. The top finial has oak leaves that surmount the rich stag-horn grip. The piece is beautifully constructed and probably actually made in Solingen. Modern pieces similar sans the presentation and N.S eagle are sold in Solingen for rather expensive prices today. We offer this item as a re-created gem. But be sure to understand it is not an original relic of the Reich, it is a great copy and if you purchase it from us it must be with the understanding that it should never be offered as a vintage weapon However, it would make a great decorator or to carry it a bit further maybe you would like to be the center of attention at your hunt club when you wear it at the next event? Length is 20 inches, blade is 13. We do not believe that this piece is something that was made in multiples. It may even be unique? It certainly is a show stopper. (May we say magnificent?.)
PRICE: $995.00 |
