The Journal Wille und Macht (Item YOUTH 2-1) |
DESCRIPTION: This was the Führerorgan of the National Socialist Youth (The Leader's Journal). This particular issue has a stamp at the bottom "Printed in Germany." This was one of a group sent to America for the Jugendschaft of the Deutscher American Bund. This is issue 42, Munich 1936. It is in extremely good condition. It contains 33 pages of text and 4 picture pages of Hitler Youth boys and girls playing musical instruments. This is a very rare journal and it is only part of a sizeable collection of these leader magazines as well as other youth books and magazines. They came from the collection of a former American Bund leader in New Jersey. Almost all are in this condition.

Hitler Youth Leader's Ring (Item YOUTH 2-2) |
DESCRIPTION: This is one of the most beautiful and stylish rings of the Third Reich. This was an issue to lads who had, through their personal achievements, attained the rank of "leader." It depicts in high relief the Prussian-style eagle similar to the one featured on the flags of the H.J. The eagle clutches the sword and hammer with a very stylized swastika in a central wreath. This is a mobile swastika or Sonnenrad (sun wheel). Inside the ring are the words Ges-Gest; very unusual in an N.S. ring and only appears in the first year of issue, generally. The silver content strike is also apparent: 835-Getsch. The ring is quite nice. This is one of the fine rings that were purchased at the Stuttgart (Waffenborse, "gun show," a few years ago.(See other rings on 'Germania' for the full account of this fantastic find.) This is a very fine and beautiful relic of the Reich.

Hitler Youth Award (Item YOUTH 2-5) |
DESCRIPTION: This is a plaque (nonportable) awarded to youth of the Highland Camp in 1934, Hochland Lager. It is by the famous Deschler & Söhn Munchen. This is a very beautiful award and measures 3 1/8 inches in diameter. This is a large piece. It has pine branches around its edges instead of oak leaves (unusual). There is some trace of polishing rouge at the right edge. It is stubborn, but I think it can be removed with elbow grease. There is a small chip at the bottom of the Hitler Youth diamond; however, this is still a fine and dramatic H.J. plaque.
