Refurbished Waffen-SS M-35 Mod NS-62 Helmet (Item HELM 2-2) |
||||||||||||||
DESCRIPTION:This is a nice refurbished original-shell, double-decaled parade-style helmet. Again, an original helmet shell was used to start with and then new decals, strap, liner, and paint job were applied. The size of this one is ‘55’ (stamped in liner). This is a nice-looking helmet with some rusting on the back edge probably done on purpose to make it look even more original. You will look great with this one as you march past the “Führerplatz” on the Kurfürstendamm on April 20th. It has very nice grey-green finish.

Waffen-SS Refurbished Mod M-42 Helmet (the best of all) (Item HELM 2-3) |
||||||||||||
DESCRIPTION:This one is so real looking it’s scary!!! It will probably be sold as (real) someday, I’m sure of that. This undoubtedly is the best we’ve ever seen in a refurbished helmet. The artist knocked himself out on this one. Of course, it is a real helmet shell of the exact type used by the Waffen- PRICE: SOLD |

Waffen-SS Refurbished Helmet in Camo Color (Item HELM 2-4) |
|||||||||
DESCRIPTION:This single-decaled M-43 helmet was completely refurbished with new liner, strap, paint job, and decal. Our artist has done a masterful job of restoration and this helmet looks very real. The decal has been purposely chipped a bit and there are scars in the paint just as an original would look after being at the front. The size is ’57,’ not too small (fairly large!) The tip of the strap is stamped with the company name and ‘1943.’ The camo colors are historically perfect! This is a very nice piece of headgear and again it is an “original” helmet recently groomed!

An M-16 Transition Helmet (as used by the early Allgemeine SS - Particularly the L.A.H) (Item HELM 2-5) |
||||
DESCRIPTION: A lot of you helmet lovers have been waiting for this one. We sold one about a year or so ago and several people have asked us to notify them if we would ever get another one but it is Germania’s policy to sell it to the proverbial ‘first come, first served’. This is the only fair way to do it. Our helmet refurbish artist says that one like this comes along very rarely so it won’t last long. “NOW” for the kicker. This helmet it seems is not only an original helmet shell, but he claims it has an original transition type liner and strap. The strap is a bit stressed but is holding well. The decals on this helmet look so absolutely real that they are scary! The finish is perfect and the whole thing if in other hands could and probably would be sold as ‘original’. We hope not but it is that good. I would say it is possibly one of the best Satchels we have ever featured. We showed it at the SOS Show at Louisville with a not for sale sign beside it. Why? Because we wanted to hear some of the expert opinions on it. Believe me, every one of the dealers and collectors thought it was real! We didn’t want to sell it there frankly because we had promised to feature the next one we received on our site. We are just that proud of these ‘refurbished’ pieces, and they just don’t come any better than this specimen. Yes, it’s expensive compared to many of our other ones but … well, you can hopefully see and understand why. PRICE: SOLD |

Waffen SS M-42 Steel Helmet Refurbished with Reversible Camo Cover (Item HELM 2-6) |
DESCRIPTION: Now here is one of our restorer's masterpieces! It is repainted expertly with new but a historically accurate liner. It has a faded out almost obliterated SS decal that looks so real that it would be “frightening” if someone brought it to you at a military show and asked you $1,800.00! The helmet unfortunately could easily be sold as genuine! It has the rough, tough finish that is done to expert presentation by our Master restoration expert. We hope it is never sold as genuine, but it would take a true expert to decipher a difference. Also, the helmet comes with the reversible camouflage helmet cover that is produced from exact specification throughout. Out artist has antiqued it to a wonderful degree with holes and wear that would be expected in such a relic were it original. All the straps that hold branches, etc., are there and the proper helmet hooks that secure the cover to the helmet body are there. The elastic material found at the sides is intact giving it the proper fit. This one would be the absolute pride of any collector or re-enactment Waffen SS member. They just don’t come better than this one! Correct in every single detail. PRICE: SOLD |

Refurbished Waffen SS Helmet Standard M-35 Reissue (Item HELM 2-7) |
||
DESCRIPTION: This is an extra fine Waffen SS helmet (original shell) that has been refurbished with new liner, decal, paint and strap. It is so real looking that only the expect can tell it apart. It looks like the one show in the Book "SS Steel" by my friend, Kelly Hicks. The one at the top of page 177 is a dead ringer for this one. It is marked clearly 164 at the back and EF-66 on the side. The size is 58 and so marked. Just a very nice example with lots of good looks. One of our restorer's best. PRICE: SOLD |

Refurbished Waffen SS Helmet (Item HELM 2-8) |
DESCRIPTION: This is an extremely fine Waffen SS combat helmet and like the others listed here please remember these are 100% original helmet shells and since the shell is 90% of the whole helmet you can say easily that here is an ‘original German helmet.’ Yes, it has been restored to full beauty, why not? Wouldn’t we want our car repainted with new tires, striping, if it needed it? But is still our car isn't it ? Why should something as beautiful as the German “Stalhelm” sit around like beat up nasty looking scrap when it is possible to restore it to its full marshal glory. Remember, these helmets in my opinion and that of many collectors is the epitome of Germanic identity. In other words, the ‘”magic helm”’ of the Wehrmacht; the greatest fighting force the world had ever seen. A relic of bravery and devotion to a cause, an army never defeated one on one or ten on one, they only went down because of inadequate supply and traitors among the ranks of the Prussian generals. Let the helmet stand as a symbol of their dedication and glory. The helmet is repainted correctly, new fine decal and chin strap. It is marked on its inside EF.66 and the size is 58. PRICE: SOLD |

Waffen SS Helmet with Camo Paint and Wire (Normandy Pattern) (Item HELM 2-9) |
DESCRIPTION: OK, you like perfection, so here is possibly the best refurbished helmet we have ever had (or anybody else has had!) in all probability. Note: if any of the ‘honest’ dealers out there had this one, I will guarantee it would be sold as an authentic one almost for sure. “It is that damn good”. I myself would think it to be the real McCoy if someone walked up to me at a military show with this one. (It is frighteningly good!) Many of the dealers out there could not resist selling it as original, but we will not do that at Germania, but gentlemen, this is an exceptional helmet and believe me, it will not be long on the pages. It is of course a 100% authentic helmet shell (refurbished) by the foremost artist doing this in the world. He is the Michelangelo of helmet refurbishers. If this helmet was absolutely original all the way it would bring (easily) five to six thousand dollars. It is beautiful with 100% perfect camouflage colors of brown and green with just a tinge of reddish coloration (subdued). The SS decal is perfect and the helmet has the criss-cross camo wire fitted in the absolutely correct fashion and has a perfect liner in the correct leather. The chin strap is very real looking (may be real!). This is a typical M-42. But there the comparison ends and the Stalhelmkunst (Helmet art) begins -- this one would grace the collector’s shelf in grand style! Am I over selling it ? (I don’t think so), because if you saw this one up close you surely would be just as impressed. I’d bet on it! And we are selling it at a really low price for what it is. PRICE: SOLD |

Refurbished SS Helmet - Huge Size (Item HELM 2-10) |
DESCRIPTION: This is the largest sized helmet we have ever had (size 68) and that would be approximately size 7 ½ in American size. Really Big!! But aside from that, this is an extra fine refurbished helmet. Keep in mind that all these helmets are with 100% original shells and then they have been completely repainted in absolutely perfect period colors. They are almost impossible to differentiate them from originals and this is great! But also dangerous because certain dealers out there have bought these helmets and sold them as originals, more than a few times. Unfortunately because they are that good. This one is a classic M-35 model & has an almost camo finish but it still retains the beautiful grey green finish under it. The decal is so real looking it is astounding! The shell rim is marked 330 and on the side is the size SE 68. The SE stands for the manufacturer Sachsische Emallier in Lauton, Germany. The decal is of the type 2, the liner is of fine leather and there is a dome stamp inside with the 1946 date. Helmets in this immense size are very rare and very seldom does one ever show up. French Volunteers in the German Army Combat Helmet (Item HELM 2-11) |
DESCRIPTION: This is again an original German helmet shell but it has been repainted and new German national eagle decal has been placed. On the other side there is the French blue, white, red, tri-color. First it should be established that the term Vichy France is generally a misnomer spread by the Communist and liberal detractors. There is no distinction between ‘Vichy’ and ‘the real France’. The fact is that the legal French government had established itself in Vichy and this is how the term got to be known. The fact is that most of France wanted to side with the European crusade against the beast of Bolshevism (Communism) that threatened the liberty of the entire west led by Germany. The Charlemagne Division and others covered themselves with martial glory as they fought valiantly for Europe beside their German comrades. They were by far the largest single volunteer force from Western Europe that fought alongside of N.S. Germany during WWII. They were numbered in the tens of thousands. They wore German style uniforms and helmets. The helmets were manufactured in Germany and the only difference was the tri-color French emblem on the right side. This was often hand painted as in the case of this example. The replaced liner is in soft supple leather (very nice).
New chin strap and accurate color. A great find for the collector who wants to have a really neat volunteer helmet to grace their collection.

Croatian SS Helmet “Croat Volksdeutsche Einsatzaffel” (Item HELM 2-12) |
DESCRIPTION: This was the Croatian equivalent of the German Allgemeine SS. It was Heinrich Himmler who authorized this elite unit. Their uniform was field grey similar to the German Waffen SS but instead of the traditional runic SS they used two stylized “Wolf Hook”. They were some of the toughest fighters of all the foreign volunteer units of the SS they were the scourge of the murdering Yugoslav partisans under the vicious rodent Tito. We list this helmet under refurbished helmets (but) this is not the work of our artist who has done all the others herein listed. We can see that the helmet has a new liner and chin strap that someone has applied to it but the Wolf Hook decals look absolutely original as does the overall paint job. This helmet was found by one of our pickers at a Polish flea market near Warsaw and there is the distinct possibility or actually probability that it is actually ‘the real thing’. But since the liner and strap look to us to be replaced, we offer it as a refurbished helmet. So dear collectors, you might just be buying a treasure here (possibly!) *Thanks to David Littlejohn for the use of pictures from his great historical reference book, Foreign Legions of the Third Reich, Volume 3.
