German Toy Tank (Item WEHR 30-2) |
||||
DESCRIPTION: Here is a cute little Panzer, all metal except for the tank treads that are rubber. We are admittedly not up on tank nomenclature so we cannot say what type tank it is, but it comes from a veteran who brought it back from Germany in WWII or so he says. It is camouflaged in the colors as used by “das Heers” (the Army). The piece is 3 inches wide. The tank turret opens and the turret guns will swing back and forth. The key is missing so we don’t know if it will operate or not. There are two levers that we also do not know if operational. There is no manufacturer name but you can see it was not a one off home hobby thing it was made in a factory for sure. Just a neat little piece of WWII. PRICE: $185.00 |

Mess Hall Flatware from the Elite Fuhrer Begleit Brigade (Item WEHR 30-6; HITLER FLATWARE 1-7) |
|||
DESCRIPTION: These ultra rare items are to us an interesting phenomenon in that an interesting personality Major General Otto Remer commanded this elite unit. This was the man who almost single handedly as an “Oberst” (Major) with his loyal troops were ultimately responsible of completely foiling the July 20th 1944 assassination plot against Hitler. He was the hero of the whole affair as seen from (sane) German historical perspective, If you see the extravagant film Valkurie” he was the officer who upon orders from the Wehrmacht high Command was sent to arrest Doctor Goebbels, but after the little Doctor handed him the phone, he heard on the other end, “Hello Oberst Remer- Do you now who I am? Do you recognize my voice?” It was then that Remer knew that Hitler was alive and he now knew who needed to be apprehended. In the movie, it is he who walks up to all the assembled big wigs including General Beck and announces, “You are all under arrest for high treason!”
The history of this armored brigade, later an armored division, is fascinating 1939-1945 to find out more about this “Elite of the Elite” unit go to Wikipedia and put in “Fuhrer Begleit Brigade” and read their fantastic story. The flatware pieces that we have acquired are from the mess hall dining sets of this illustrious group. We do not know just what period they are from. Whether they are from the time when they were the personal guard unit for the Fuhrer or when they were the army group (not SS) that had the original duty of guarding him or when they became an armored Division. The set in all probability came from the garrison H.Q. in Fallsingbostel next to Hitler’s (Wolf’s lair) Rastenburg East Prussia. There are knives forks, spoons and a set of bread tongs. These pieces bear the mark of the “Fuhrerstandarte” the Reichskanzlers personal flag. This is the flag with the four corner eagles with wreathed swastika in its center. The pieces are in heavy silver plate and are all in very fine condition. We are breaking them up for the reason that there is not what could be called a complete set here although we do have 11 pieces initially. They are the most rare of all Third Reich flatware out there. There is a better chance by far to find a piece of Hitler’s personal formal silver dinnerware than to ever find one of these. By the way, Hitler himself would often be an honored guest at the FBB H.Q. and the likelihood of one of these utensils being used by Their Boss is very good. They certainly are a find! Who but Germania would have them? Real ones that is! The listing of what we have follows: Set #2 Single piece offered - Bread Tongs |
A Truthful CD Interview with Otto Remer: The Real Story of 20 July 1944 “WALKURIE” |
|||
DESCRIPTION: Well, we all have seen the long expected film, Valkyrie (in German “Walkurie”). This Hollywood extravaganza is as was expected, a flamboyant glorification of a bunch of bumbling traitors who failed in their nefarious plans to assassinate Germany’s leader, Adolf Hitler, and thus hopefully make a separate peace with Germany’s enemies. Those of us that have sat through the talking head Bill O.Riley’s show have seen the nightly segment called Pinheads and Patriots that he spreads before us in his Neo-Con fashion. Well here in this “historic” docudrama we have a classic case of “Pinheads vs. Patriots” and Count Von Stauffenberg played by Tom Cruise was the classic “Pinhead” while the Patriot title goes to Col. Otto Remer. Due to the yellow rag press that exists in several countries including ours, the July 1944 conspirators are officially venerated while outstanding war time combat heroes and selfless patriots such as Col. & Late Brigadier General Otto Remer are dishonored. Otto Ernst Remer (born Aug 18, 1912) died Oct 4, 1997 at the age of 85. He served with distinction in the German army (1930-1945) during the Second World War. He served bravely as a front line officer in France, the Balkans and on the eastern front after promotion to Major and then Colonel in 1944. He was chosen to command the elite Grossdeutschland Guard Regiment in Berlin. It was in this post that the 31 year old officer played a historically pivotal role in putting down the attempt by a small circle of insurgent officers to kill Adolf Hitler and seize control of Germany’s government. It is interesting to note at this point, that if Germany (or the U.S) were ever to find their nations in another major war, it would be suicidal to cite as role models for its soldiers and officers the individuals such as Von Stauffenburg and the other conspirators and individuals who tried to assassinate the nation's leader and overthrow the government in a murderous Putsch. Every nation has a healthy survival instinct and naturally venerates, particularly in the time of war, individuals who make exemplary self sacrifice, and embrace patriotism and heroism -- men of the caliber of General Otto Ernst Remer. Fate had thrust Col. Remer into that fateful role, a challenge that he met and remained steadfast and loyal to his Wehrmacht oath. Count V. Stauffenberg also took that same oath but like the craven coward that he was, he not only broke it, but killed four fellow army officers and wounded scores of others in his failed homicidal mission. Had he been so dedicated to his ideals and murder was his agenda, why did he not simply walk into that command H.Q. and simply shoot the Fuhrer? At that point in time, army officers of his rank were trusted to wear their side arms in the buildings that Hitler was present in. Why?- - There looms only one answer --cowardice. On the other hand, Col. Remer forged forward and was directly responsible for the arrest of most of the conspirators on that fateful day. Now, as Paul Harvey used to say, “Here’s the rest of the story!” We offer a CD recording of an interview with Colonel Remer in 1987 called, ‘My Role in the Putting Down of the 1944 Attempt to Overthrow Hitler." This is a two part recording wherein Remer gives the full fascinating account of his actions on July 20, 1944. To us, it is much more interesting and truthful than “Valkyrie” with Tom Cruise. The movie reviews call Stauffenberg a “good German.” Well, that is very debatable. When it is put under the magnification of practical geopolitical warfare with this CD, we hope to illustrate the other side of the coin. We believe we have the “Good German” in Col. Remer. At the 1987 conference, Remer said he acted in good conscience and if he had it to do over he would do it all the same. I say if I had to write this review over again I would do it all the same! We now present this great talk by this brave man who now belongs to history. PRICE: The two CD set for $25.80 plus postage -- Don’t miss it ! |
Three Army Dagger Hangers (Das Heeres ) (Item WEHR 30-7) |
DESCRIPTION: These three hangers would be considered the deluxe type with the Oak Leaf suspension tops. They are in average condition with one of them a bit worse for wear on the backside but even this one has a lot of life left in it. Two of them have the small top suspension device with the Oak Leaf pattern on each side, while the third has the large truly deluxe suspension device with the cast horseshoe shape with oak leaves in high relief.
If you are a dealer the price is very good and you can make money on these especially if you put a dagger to it. PRICE: $655.00 for all three. |
“Soldatenkopf” Sculpture of Soldier Bust (Item WEHR 30-8) |
|||
DESCRIPTION: This is 100% original for starters. It is not one of the Kelly’s that are advertised in Military Trader and elsewhere. It is sculpted in bronze or heavy white metal? The head is in one patina while the helmet is in another greenish color. The plinth is in the finest of Italian marble. This is a very dramatic looking bust embodying the spirit of the “Deutschen Soldat,” the greatest soldiers of all time. If the supply of needed materials would have been somehow miraculously provided, the outcome of WWII would have been far different (read the words of Seig Heil Victroria!). The bust with base measures 8 ½" high while the bust alone is measured at 5 ½ inches. Perfect condition throughout. PRICE: SOLD |
Portrait of Archangel Saint Michael Vanquishing the Devil (Item WEHR 30-9 & ART MASTER 1-11) |
|
DESCRIPTION: Since many of our narrations on this site have to do with the Pan-European forces battling what we historically view as the Devil Incarnate in WWII, we thought it fitting that we should have our magnificent German artist paint a portrait of St. Michael in the classic pose as he slays the minions of Hell. Whether they are actual demons or Partisans, they are the oppressors of the West and all it has stood for. It is assured that Lucifer will be destroyed in the lake of fire, but for now he is triumphant and assuredly still here. St. Michael is the patron of knights and soldiers, as is St. Sebastian. The Cossack troops who fought alongside the German Army in WWII often had this Archangel Michael on flags, jewelry, etc. They were for the most part engaged against the hell-sent serpents of the Devil -- Marshal Tito and his Yugoslav Partisans. St. Michael has always represented justice, bravery, loyalty and reverence. That’s why we had him brought to Germania’s pages. Perhaps he will be a talisman against the demons of the forums as well! The painting is on a stretcher and is 3’ by 2’… a beautiful rendering of a beautiful idea, it is hoped that soon he will be the spirit of the age. PRICE: NO LONGER AVAILABLE |
Feldjagerkorps Gorget (Military Police) (Glows in the dark) (Item WEHR 30-11 & POL 3-2) |
||
DESCRIPTION: “The Feldjager” -- This was a unique elite military police unit that answered only to the supreme command of the German army. They were asked to hunt down deserters, arrest insubordinate soldiers, looters and malingerers, and search rear areas for any soldiers who were capable of front line service. The Feldjager were manned with battle experienced officers, NCO’s and tough and dedicated soldiers. They were given the power to arrest anyone who could not prove a satisfactory explanation for their absence from duty. Through the use of fear backed up by the high command of the German army (the OKW) it was hoped that these Feldjagers would provide the incentive and motivation for the German soldier to stand and fight to the death! The Commanders of Feldjager even had the authority in 1943 onward to the end of the war to hold a drum-head court marshal and execute a defendant on the spot! The power of the Feldjager units most defiantly came from the “gun barrel.” Members of the Feldjagerkorps wore this special duty gorget that would glow in the dark so that the officer would be immediately recognized as a Feldjager when making a traffic stop to inspect papers should this be by the dark of night. Because of their unpopularity amongst the German rank and file, the Feldgendarmeri and Feldjager were often known as “Kettenhunde” (chain dogs) in reference to their duties and the wearing of the Ringkragen or gorget that suspended from a chain around their neck, the mere sight of this gorget coming at you was most unnerving to say the least! The gorget we offer is in used but good condition with a little corrosion at its edges. The felt on the back portion is in very good shape. Measures about 6 ½" wide and 3" high at its middle section. All parts are magnetic as they should be and unmarked. There are reproductions out there but this one is 100% original. P.S. Has the flat tangs on the back as it should. PRICE: SOLD |
